Migrate sps 2003 to moss 2007 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've follow the steps in the link below.

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb954662.aspx#MOSS2007UpgradeCustomizationsP1_NewSharePointConceptsandTerminology

By select migrate approach to gradual upgrade with the option throw out customization. I would like to confirm about question below.

    1. Would there be any data loss with an approach like this?

    2. Will the sites migrated from obsolete 2003 templates be able to use MOSS 2007 features?

We've tried the migration but we have a lot of sites so hardly to verify that all sites migrate correctly.
It seems that the site that use custom template still appear in 2003 theme.

How this happen? Would it be possible to change template in 2003 server to not use custom template (change to use default template) so that we when it migrate it will use the 2007 theme?

our main problem is, we have custom site in sps2003 we've tried migrated but the result of the sites that use custom template are resulted in the 2003 template.
Actually we want it to appear in 2007 template. We use gradual upgrade approach and select to not keep customization.

    Do you have any suggestion?

    Thank you in advance.
