Performancepoint server drillthrough action RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    Scenario:

Performancepoint dashboard with analytic chart was deployed on sharepoint site.

Drillthrough action was created in cube and works fine.

MDX is used to get data from SSAS on the analytic chart report:

SELECT NON EMPTY {[Measures].[Sell Total - Emp Invoice]
    *
    TAIL([Date].[Year - Week - Date].[week name].members, 8)
    }
    on Columns
     , NON EMPTY {[Emp Invoice].[Account Manager], FILTER(
     [Emp Invoice].[Account Manager].Children
     , [Measures].[Sell Total - Emp Invoice] > 0
     )}
      ON ROWS
    FROM [SSW Data]
    WHERE TAIL([Invoice Date].[Year - Quarter - Month - Date].[Year], 2)

An error is generated when I clicked drillthrough action:

    An unexpected error occurred.
    Error ReportViewControlUnexpectedError

This error has been logged for the administrator.

In the event viewer on PPS an error was logged into application log:

  • Finally I found a solution ...

A solution is to leave blank the following text boxes in data source Time section:

    • Time Dimension:
    • Member:
    • Hierarchy level:

I set reference date to 17/09/2008

Tested with Adventure works cube as well:

      SELECT
      NON EMPTY {[Product].[Product].Children} ON ROWS
      , {[Date].[Calendar].[Calendar Year].&[2003]} ON COLUMNS
      FROM [Adventure Works]
      WHERE [Measures].[Internet Sales Amount]

If you preview versus publish the dashboard is there a difference or the same error message?

  • Also ensure that you have Service Pack 1 installed for PerformancePoint.

Here is a link to a post on SP1 that was on Forums as well:

  • SP1 was installed but it didn't make any difference.
In preview mode the same error was generated

  • Also, I tried to check version number for PP monitoring server.

I navigated to 'Add or Remove Programs' and open support information for 'Microsoft Office PerformancePoint Server 2007 - Monitoring Server' and it reads version: 3.0.0.0

Does it mean I need to re-apply SP1 again?

How do I check the version of PPS I am running?
