2007 sharepoint - calculated columns RRS feed

  • I have a calculated column with the fomula [closed date] - [submitted date] and I want the column to calculate how many days it took to close the issue. The problem is until i enter a closed date it is displaying -40,000+ days . How can i make it to where it is blank until the closed date has been entered ?

  • You can use an IF() statement to check whether the Closed Date has received a value, like so:
    =IF([Closed Date]>0,[Closed Date]-[Submitted Date],"")
    The formula above returns an empty string if the closed date is not greater than zero.
