EIST not working in Vista build 5728 RRS feed

  • Question

I have a Core 2 Duo E6400 and enabled EIST in the bios of my Asus P5W Dh Deluxe. In XP, EIST took care of lowering the processorspeed and voltage to lower my electric bill :-).

But in Vista, regardless which "power plan" i choose the processor remains on 2,133Ghz which is the maximum. I tried messing with the settings "Processor power management", minimum and maximum but that isn't doing anything according to cpu-z (www.cpuid.com). Maybe the fault is with cpu-z, but vista itself is also reporting that the processor is always running maximum.

What i do see is when i alter the Processor power management settings and look at the resource monitor, the blue line at maximum frequency changes too.

    Am i overseeing something?!?!
