Ping Problem with server and clients

  • hello

I have one server 2012 which is DC and on member server that is part of domain. I share docs on member for clients as map drive. all clients get IP from DHCP server that is not running on windows server 2012.

I give a static IP address to server but for clients all get from DHCP server. I joined clients to server so they can ping server well and also all shared folders are reachable by clients, BUT the problem is the server can ping none of clients. just show the routine error massages like "request timed out". I try to ping either by IP or Name but still have this problem.

It is good to mention that server's firewall is turned off.

What are possible reasons for this matter? I really glad to your helpful answers to fix this problem.

  • Hi

    Please check this:

Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center\Advanced sharing settings

Turn on File and printer sharing under Domain.

    Good luck!
