Deleting a User RRS feed

  • Question

  • We purchased an Online Share Point 2007 Package along with a website to host it through Network Solutions. The package seems to work except for a group of users that were all added at the same time and never got an email alerting them of their user name and automatically generated password. The users appear in the People and Groups Section but when we try to delete them under Site Actions-Site Settings-Delete User we get the message “Not all users have been have been successfully deleted. User BLANK not deleted. User Could not be found. Please try again”. Can anyone help us with this dilemma. We have since added and deleted users with no problems.

  • Network Solutions has a hosted WSS service called nsHosting SharePoint. Is this the service you purchased?

The error you have provided is not any SharePoint error that I have ever seen (nor am I finding any results on Google/Bing for that matter). Is this the exact error you are receiving?

If so, it sounds like it's part of a customization that Network Solutions has made. In my opinion if a company is providing a service that they have customized, they should support it as well. It's unfortunate that they are unwilling to help you. If you purchased the service within the past 30 days I suggest making use of their 30-day money back guarantee.

  • Is the error literally saying "User BLANK..." or are you using "BLANK" as a place holder for the user's name?

I recommend contacting your hosted SharePoint vendor for assistance.

  • We bought SharePoint from the web site host, Network Solutions, but they are saying they can't (won't) help us.

  • Thanks Jason for your help. I think we're going to have another go at Network Solutions help desk and discuss the 30 day money back guarantee.
