Exchange 2010 sp1 MP RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello all

I am running opsmgr 2007 R2 rollup 4. My Exchange environement consist of 4 mailbox servers, 4 CAS\HT servers, configured in a DAG that stretches across two different sites. Currently the company is preventing the use of Outlook Anywhere, and its turned off in Exchange, however the network team is also preventing authentication from occuring through an F5 to http://webmail.mycompany.com/rpc/rpcdiag webmail.mycompany.com is the where all the exchange 2010 web services point to. When SCOM runs synthetic transactions it throughs up alerts because the monitor cannot authenticate to http://webmail.mycompany.com/rpc/rpcdiag I have read that its not recomended to disable monitors and or alerts in the exchange 2010 MP, so i am looking for advice on how to deal with this issue? is it safe to disable all monitors that check outlook anywhere?

  • You should look at the discoveries in the MP.  Disable the ones for OWA synthetic monitoring.  You can either read the guide - which lists all of the things you can disable or ship disabled, or you can explore the MP at the MPwiki (http://scommanagementpackwiki.com)

    Hi,

I also think you can try to locate the monitor related to this issue and override it.

Best practices to use when you configure overrides in System Center Operations Manager 2007
