ADR Preview Button Showing Incorrect Software Updates RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have been using an ADR to build monthly software update groups. This month after running a successful sync for April patch Tuesday the preview button in the ADR wont pickup the updates. I have it set to last 1 month and it wont list the updates from yesterday. I tried changing it to 7 days and it says there are 0 updates. Any help is appreciated.

  • Right. The bulletin IDs have all been removed as well by design -- I don't know why though. They were never a good criteria to use anyway IMO.

  • Are you sure that your WSUS sync happened properly? There was an issue that caused all WSUS catalog syncs to fail nearly all day yesterday.

  • Thank you for the reply. I heard that too from one of my colleagues. However the wsyncmgr log showed that it was successful and the catalog was updated. Also in the "All Software Updates it shows the 4/11 updates. Is there something else to check? What I figured out so far is that appears the april updates no longer have bulletin ids and that was part of my search criteria for my adr rule. Once I removed bulletin ids from the criteria the april updates showed up as expected. Please let me know if I am off base here. --Thanks

  • This post describes why the bulletin IDs have been removed: https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/yurikasensei/2017/04/13/get-started-with-security-update-guide-new-portal-for-security-updates/
