un-group similar program tabs in task bar. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I don't want tabs of similar program grouped together.

    •  In previous versions of Windows, windows appeared on the taskbar in the order you opened them, but in Windows 7, related windows always appear next to each other.

  • Windows 7 will not do this - see the Note at the bottom of this page

You will need to use a third party program such as

and choose the option "Don't group" as shown below

  • I've been introduced to this same program which does exactly what I want it to do. Yet I am also wondering if there is a permanent modification that I can do so I don't have to have this program running in the background (since this program Has to be open for the items to be un-grouped). I'm not saying anything bad about the program, yet I want it to do the modification once and have it stick this way without running the program in the background. So what I'm asking practically is: What is the Registry key that I need to modify so this setting can stay this way permanently?
