Power Query - Changing Date Formats for Specific Cases RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

I currently have an issue for which I'm quite sure there is quick solution, but have reached a standstill.

I'm working in power query, and importing data sets from a specified folder.

Within that data set I have a "Date" column which seems that Power Query is unable to read, as it is in the ""dd/mm/yyyy" format. As far as I know, PQ reads the format "mm/dd/yyyy" much more smoothly.

The reason this is particularly annoying is because the raw data export jumps between date formats (some cases the month comes first, other cases, the day will come first). I thought of splitting the columns, but that will affect all cases, and I wouldn't want to touch the raw data set, as I'm relying on incremental refreshes, so it would be awesome to figure something out within power query itself.

I've attached a sample workbook for further clarification.

    Date Time Format

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

    Darko
