WSUS - Unexpected error When accessing WSUS via console on the WSUS server RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We have recently come across and issue with WSUS running on Server 2012 r2 (I believe it is using Net framework 4 in IIS but has worked fine for 2 years till now)

When I open the WSUS console it loads fine and connects and i can view everything expect the "All computers/Unassigned" computers views. It quickly comes up with the Error "Error: unexpected Error"

I have tried the following the instructions in the error file below however has not worked, Any ideas would be helpful.

    Error

The WSUS administration console has encountered an unexpected error. This may be a transient error; try restarting the administration console. If this error persists,

Try removing the persisted preferences for the console by deleting the wsus file under %appdata%\Microsoft\MMC\.
