Report Columns breaking when exporting to word in SSRS 2008 R2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I am developing a report using SSRS 2008 R2 and by BIDS tool. This report is having 32 columns.

When i export this report to the Word in my local machine, it is exported correctly.i.e the report is showing up the entire 32 columns in a single page without any disturbance. But when i deployed this report on to some others machine and when the report has exported into word, it is not getting rendered expectantly. i.e. only 4 columns out of 32 were rendering and the report is not showing the remaining columns.

as per my knowledge, I guess this is not the problem with the report file(.rdl) so It can be issue with any SSRS configuration file or JavaScript issue.

Kindly correct me or suggest me the best way to avoid this problem.

    Thanks in advance..

  • Hello,

When export report to Word, Word repaginates the entire report again based on the page size. The Word page height and width are set by the following report definition language (RDL) properties: paper size height and width, left and right page margins, and the top and bottom page margins.

If the .rdl file hasn’t been changed in other server and the Word render extension render the report with default setting, the report should keep same after export to Word.
What's more, please verify the default setting of the Microsoft Word in other server. If you had Word's pagination based on a normal template in this server, report pagination may change.
