Document library cannot upload large files RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am running MSPS 2007 SP3 64 bit.

I am not able to upload large documents in my documents librarey. The maximum file that i can upload is of 27 mb.

I followed following link and applied changes in central administration and web.config files but the problem still exists: http://www.sharepointperth.com/maximum-upload-limit-on-sharepoint-size/

When I upload largie file it gives 'The webpage cannot be found' error.

I have also checked applicationhost.config file and have not found and size restriction in it.

Can anyone inform me that what other things should I consider to fix this problem?

  • You said that you did not find any size restriction in applicationhost.config? You should have, but it should be 50 MB. Have you checked the ULS logs or windows application logs after a failed upload?

  • The solution is finally found.

You can increase upload size in the IIS Manager:

    1. Open the IIS Manager
    2. From the server home tree item, open the Request Filtering item
    3. Click Edit Feature Settings... on the right
    4. Set the Maximum allowed content length (Bytes)

By default, IIS 7 / 7.5 specifies 30,000,000 which is equal to (30,000,000/1024/1024) 28.6 MB. you can change it to your required number.
