Worksheet Focus Changes on Data Refresh [Excel 2016] RRS feed

  • Hi All,

    I've been using Power Query to create a live dashboard. My workbook consists of two worksheets (Front and Back). My data connection is set to refresh a table on "Back" every 5 minutes. A clean/parsed version of this table appears on the "Front" worksheet.

    When using Excel 2013 I could open the excel file, select the "Front" worksheet and go about my day. The query would run, data would update, and focus would remain on the "Front" sheet. This was perfect.

    Our company just updated to Excel 2016. Now whenever the query runs and updates the table on the "Back" worksheet, the "Back" worksheet takes focus.

    I'm not finding anything the options of excel or power query that sets which sheet gets focus when, or any way I can "lock" focus of a sheet. My searches for a solution have also been fruitless. =(

    This is a known issue and will be fixed in an upcoming click-to-run update of Excel 2016.
