Files/folders removed after deployment of security updates RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi!

I just created a package under Software Library - Software Updates - Deployment packages for new windows updates, and specified the location on our fileserver in an another subfolder as the previous ones (\\fileserver\windows updates\january, \\fileserver\windows updates\february) and so on.

But the files and folders for the older windows updates are gone.

Does anyone know what happens to these files and folders? Is it the "expired"/"superseeded" cleanup that deletes these automatically?

  • Those folders (i.e. \january) won't get deleted by ConfigMgr. SP1 does a content cleanup (see wsyncmgr.log: "Deleted xy orphaned content folders in package <PkgID>"), but that should not affect the top level folder of a package.

  • Hi,

I am also faced the same folder deletion issue on 2 independent primary server.

Recreated the same folder with month patches, after cleanup of patches folders are missing which contains the downloaded patches.
