cannot be used for communication because it is in the Faulted state RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have reinstalled FAST several times, but continue to get the following communication error when trying to execute queries from the search center.  The content ssa connection to FAST is fine, as we are able to index documents, confirmed using indexerinfo doccount on the FAST server.  But there appears to be a communication problem with the query ssa.  Googling for this error, I found only one other mention of it, an unanswered post from two years ago, over in the Sharepoint forum:  http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/1a054c10-265b-4014-8723-240246bd5e9f/search-service-application-in-faulted-state?forum=sharepointadminprevious

    Anyone seen this problem?

  • Hello,

Fast Search for SharePoint 2010 is time sensitive environment.  When we see this error we have found that the servers are not in synch (>1minute).

Can you verify that your servers have the time is in synch?

    Best Wishes,
