User Profiles Import from SQL server RRS feed

  • Hi ,

    I have following reqs

    1) Needs to Import Users profiles in to Sharepoint 2007  from SQL server Database so that people search can be configured

    Can some tell me how do i implement that or that or any  links.

  • Thanks friends for ur suggestions i transferred the data my writing the SP and  migrated the data directly to SQL- Server Databse of my Sharepoint app.

    Can user profiles can be re-imported from AD in your environment ? We generally never backup/restore SSP's.

  • This SQL server Database is an external Data base and is not linked to sharepoint any way.will the solution provided by u helpfull then.

    Office SharePoint Server 2007 supports database and enterprise application data sources by integrating with the Business Data Catalog. Also, Office SharePoint Server 2007 treats the Business Data Catalog data sources only as a supplementary data source, meaning that it uses the data only to provide additional user information not available in the master connection. It can import user profiles only from Active Directory and LDAP directories. For more information, please refer to:

    If you import additional user information from SQL Server database, you can user BDC to populate the profiles, for more information, please refer to:
