Sharepoint Calculated Column Multiple If Statement Not Working RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a Sharepoint Calculated Column Multiple If Statement which is Not Working. It always returns 1

    Here is my formula:

    =IF([E or O?]<>"Enlisted" & LEFT([Route To],1)=4

    or [E or O?]<>"Enlisted" & LEFT([Route To],1)=1

    ,LEFT([Route To],1)+2,LEFT([Route To],1)+1)

  • I think that you're using '&' to mean 'AND', instead of concatenation.  So, neither of your OR conditions on the TRUE side of the IF ever get met, and the FALSE condition always fires.

I assume LEFT([Route To],1)+1) equates to 1 for you, and that's what gets returned.
