Client Push or manual installations not working RRS feed

  • Question

  • At some point the client push and manual install of client stopped working (was working previously). I've confirmed the user service account. Log results from the last attempt are:

  • As noted by Simon, client push, based on the above log, is working fine. If the client agent is not installed correctly on the system noted in the above log, then you need to troubleshoot that and not client push using the log that Simon called out.

Also, this KB will walk you through the process end to end: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/925282/how-to-troubleshoot-advanced-client-push-installation-issues-in-system

  • Hi TTSysAdmins,

From the server side looks good.

On the client: Could you please verify that there's a C:\Windows\ccmsetup folder at all? If so, please attach the ccmsetup.log that can be found in C:\Windows\ccmsetup\Logs

    Regards

    Simon

  • Hi,

Did you upgraded the site server or client version?

  • Hi Simon, thanks for the reply.

I was able to get the client installed on the system by opening the directory that was created that has what looks like a guid for its name {72875A95-4007-4DAC-88D8-66366F9A5045}. Note with this system that silverlight was installed during the push but it was as if the whole installation didn't complete until i ran the .wim.

I am having a similar issue with another system where the push isn't working at all, and the manual installation isn't working. i have the log from the server below.

If you could point me in the right direction here i would greatly appreciate it. Just as a side note, both machines run windows 10. I haven't had any issues installing the client on win 7.

    thank you again.

  • > "until i ran the .wim"

There is no wim file so not sure what you are talking about there.

You're asking for Simon's help again, but you're not even following the advice he gave before as it's the exact same scenario: please check the ccmsetup.log file on the target client.

I've also posted a complete walk-through for you to reference when troubleshooting client push so please read it.
