error applying virtual switch properties RRS feed

  • am getting that error when trying to create a virtual switch.

    adding ports to the switch new virtual switch failed. the operation failed because the file was not found.

    tried the following command, as stated in apost on this forum, but no luck:

    >netcfg -l c:\windows\winsxs\amd64_wvms_vspp.inf_31bf3856ad364e35_6.2.8102.0_none_8bf66ac0928702ad\wvms_vspp.inf -c p -i vms_pp

    am using a realtek card.

    anyone who can help?

  • problem solved by removing huyper-v and instlling virtual box. virtual box works withoug a problem, hyper-v doesnt. strange,r eally strange.

    Please check whether you have installed latest network card drive.
    Check whether you can create an internal or private virtual network swath.
    A previous thread describes similar issue, issue finally fixed by reinstall Hyper-V feature and install Windows update. You may try that and give us feedback for further troubleshooting.

  • many thanks for the reply. The driver is up to date(realtek pci be) and i can create an internal switch.
