Where has all my autofil information gone? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I normally accept the changes forced on me by Microsoft, accepting it as part of the burden of being a Mac user when it comes to MS. However, today has infuriated me! I seem to have lost control of my work because MS has made so many changes to Word for Mac. Where is the font <g class="gr_ gr_345 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling multiReplace" data-gr-id="345" id="345">colour</g> on the <g class="gr_ gr_382 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling ins-del" data-gr-id="382" id="382">tool bar</g>? Where are ALL my auto texts which saved me hours of writing every day? Where are the 'dashes' in the <g class="gr_ gr_635 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling multiReplace" data-gr-id="635" id="635">customise</g> bullet points? The choice is now awful arrows, stars and such like. Not very good for producing professional documents. These are all important parts of my work and they have disappeared overnight. Other things that disappeared include Print preview, which was very useful for me as an editor and formatter.

Is there anything planned to improve the experience of MS users on Mac? I pay a subscription every year, and every year, the service for Mac users appears to deteriorate.

What’s the detailed Word for Mac version you have installed? Please tell me the version number after referring to About Office: What version of Office am I using? This will help me find the features you need better.

Does the AutoFill function mean Auto Text? See more about AutoText: Have Word complete your typing in Word 2016 for Mac. For more about using Office for Mac, read Office 2016 for Mac Quick Start Guides.

To learn more about Office for Mac updates and version changes, please read Update history for Office for Mac ; Release notes for Office for Mac. If you don't like the new Word for MAC, you can also download the previous version of the installation pack to reload Word.

In addition, you can feedback and get more help at Office for Mac Community. If you can't find the option, you can always consult at the TechNet Forums. Some options such as the font color, you can see them directly on the UI.
