how do i kick out a user from a document ?in sharepoint2007 RRS feed

  • hi i need help with sharepoint 2007 ,i got some document that are locked or checked out and i cant see him in manage checked out files ,what can i do?

    please help

    The 'Discard check out' can be found in this way: Open the library in browser and click on the arrow next to the file name. The 'Discard check out' is listed in the edit control block.

    I understand that you cannot see the checked out files in the Manage Checked out files page. Are you a site administrator? Are you using a record center site?

    You can try to browse to the library where the documents are stored and choose Discard check out, or Check in the file. If you don’t have permission to perform this action, ask your site administrator for help.

  • To expand on Entan's answer, you can also take ownership of documents that have no checked in version via the Document loibrary settings.
