How to open excel spreadsheet in sharepoint rather than in Internet Explorer? RRS feed

  • HI,

    If anyone know how to change a excel file in sharepoint open in Excel Spreadsheet?  Because everytime i open a excel file in sharepoint, it will open in Internet Explorer but not spreadsheet.

  • Hi,

    Make sure that you have atleast contributor right or above to see the settings option in library: Go to you doc library--->Select "Document Library Settings" from Settings tab

  • Hi,

    That you can change from document library settings....click Settings, click Document Library Settings, click Advanced settings under General Settings, and in the Browser-enabled Documents section, unselect Display as a Web page

  • for some reason, i cant see Setting in sharepoint.

  • I have access to document library, i able to see all listed document.  But i don't see there is document library setting option anywhere.

    Another thing i found out is when i open a excel file it normally will ask whether you would like to open in Edit or Read only, but it does not prompt me for that.
