ActiveX Error, No Solution Found RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have created a form library in SharePoint 2010 with an Excel 2007 Template based on a Content Type with custom SharePoint columns.  One of my custom columns is a 'People and Groups' column.  When I open the Excel Template from the SharePoint list, the following error is displayed and my 'People and Groups' column is blocked out.

    "Microsoft Office InfoPath:

One or More ActiveX controls could not be displayed because either:

    1) Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on this page, or

    2) You have blocked a publisher of one of the controls.

As a result, the page may not display correctly"

As a caveat, I have already tried the following solutions:

    1. Going to: Start->Run->regedit->HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\InternetSettings\Zones\0\(right click)1200.....Modify..Value=0.  The value was already zero and there was not an 'L' shaped character to be deleted

    2. Resetting my Explorer settings

    3. My Macro Security settings on Excel are set at "Disable all macros with notification." Altering these settings did not solve the problem

This only happens on certain computers in our company, so I believe it to be a setting that is the problem.  Unfortunatly, I have run out of good ideas.  Please help me!
