Public folder not showing in address book. RRS feed

  • Question

  • A mail enabled public folder I've created and can be emailed to without any problem will not show up in the address book. In Exchange Advanced "hide from Exchange address lists" is not ticked and I've entered a "Simple display name" (in case that was the issue).

    Exchange version is 2003 SP2.

  • Can you see the folder in the address book with OWA?

  • Check the showInAddressBook attrbute for that object in AD. Is it populated? If not, copy and paste the value from one that is showing correctly.

Could you tell me where to find that attribute please? I can't see it using the AD MMC snap-in.

  • Richard,

As you can see it in OWA, it looks like the Offline Address Book may need to be rebuilt.  The instructions can be found here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123470(v=exchg.65).aspx
