Permission to create new libraries RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is it possible to give a user or group permission to create new libraries within sharepoint without making that person or group an owner?

    Thanks!

Answers

  • Yes, It can be done. Depending on your requirements, you could assign them the following permissions

    • Design
    • Manage Hierarchy

The above two permission level will give a user/group ability to create list and delete lists without giving them "Full control" access. The other way is to create a new permission level. You can navigate to this Url http://site/_layouts/role.aspx to create a new permission level which will give them access to "Manage Lists" permission level.

    Does this help?

  • Hi,

I think that WSS / SharePoint 2007 Object Model does not include any event to hook on for adding new Lists / Libraries.
