RODC Disconnected Reboot RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have a RODC at my facility. If it is disconnected from the Read Write Domain Controller and the RODC reboots Active Directory is no longer available. We have waited over 30 minutes to see if there were services that were slow to start. When the system is reconnected to the Read Write Domain Controller the issues are resolved. We need to make sure that the RODC can be disconnected for extended periods of time (up to 30 days) and can be rebooted during this disconnected period.

Is this possible or is there an issue with disconnected reboots? Thanks for the assistance.

  • Hello,

Thank you for posting in our TechNet forum.

Would you please describe the scenario in details?

    For example:

    Sam1:
    RWDC
    RODC
    Client

Do we mean we disconnect RWDC from the domain? How do we disconnect it?

    Sam2:
    RWDC
    RODC
    Client

Do we mean we disconnect RODC from the domain? How do we disconnect it?
