  • How do I  move a list with data from one site to another?

  • There are a few ways: -

    1. Save it as a template (STP), upload it to the new site's template gallery and recreate it from that template
    2. If it's larger, export it as a spreadsheet, break the data link and then reimport the spreadsheet into your new site collection.
    3. Copy & paste from "side by side" datasheet views.

    This is assuming you're using SharePoint 2007

  • You can achive this by saving list as template with data as mentioned by Steven. However, if the template size execeeds the configured limit in your farm, then for time being you can consider icnreasing the limit using stsadm -o setproperty -pn max-template-document-size -pv [value]
