Windows 7 Ultimate x64 RDC problem RRS feed

  • Question

  • Via VPN, I used to be able to RDC to my office PC (winXP) successfully but today I am unable to. The session has been established but after launching the RDC application, it never connected, it was attempting to connect forever until I cancel it.  I have another PC with windows XP OS and I was able to RDC to my office PC without a problem.

As far as I could tell, the only windows updates that's been applied since the last time I was able to successfully RDP is KB978207.

    Please advise.

  • Hello,

I had a similar problem and the it was resolved by using another user account. I think the problem was caused by the corrupted user profiles.

    New Account
    1. Click the Start button, click Control Panel.
    2. Click "User Accounts".
    3. Click "Manager another account" and click "Create a new account".
    4. Input the user name, select "Computer administrator" as the desired account type, and then click "Create Account".
    5. Restart your computer and log on as the new created user account.

If the problem still happen, try to boot the computer to clean boot mode and use IP address to connect your office PC.
