Removable drive scanning RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi there,

I have a question about scanning removable usb drives and the likes. Apparently during a full scan it is disabled by default, but can be enabled using a registry key (the DisableRemovableDriveScanning one.) However - this key, should it be created on the server, or on each client where I wish to do it? In the case of it being the server, is it the Management Server (probably a daft question.)

  • Hi,

On each client where you want to do it.
If you have a lot of clients, i would have created an .adm file and push it out through a policy.

  • Not sure what your quesion is. but if you change a setting localy that is pushed through a policy, the policy will overwrite the setting the next time the policy is applied.

So i guess the answer is that you can only change the setting momentarily
