What happens if user cannot get 'complex password' correct?

    Question

  • We are getting ready to enable Complex Passwords (Win2008r2 domain).

I know that when they need to change the password & get the format wrong, they will get the warning box with the requirements, but if, after repeated attempts to create a new complex password, they simply cannot get the correct format, will they just continue to get the dialog box?

I wanted to ensure there was no way for them to lock out their account during the process.

    Thx

Answers

  • The user will not be locked out. When selecting the first password after their password is expired, the badPwdCount is not incremented when they enter a password that does not meet the complexity requirements. At least that is my experience.
