Outlook Exchange Server Connection Status RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Ive recently installed exchange 2010 in coexistance with exchange 2003 , ive moved my mailbox over to 2010 and all is working fine , however if i look in Outlook Exchange Server Connection Status in outlook i get

    mail.mydomain.com  directory

    mail.mydomain.com mail

    mail.mydomain.com public folders

I was expecting to see one of our DC's as the directory server not the mail server , is this normal ?? our exchange 2010 servers are not domain controllers.

    Thanks

Answers

  • Yes this is by design.

Outlook dont talk directly to a DC/GC with Exchange 2010. instead outlook communicate with Exchange address book service.
