Verification of file signature failed

Question

When I attempted to add a new package to the Software module in SCE the operation timed out, so I tried again. Now there are two packages for the software installation, and when I try to delete the first one (the one that timed out), the following error appears...
Date: 4/2/2008 8:25:19 PM
Application: System Center Essentials
Application Version: 6.0.1885.0
Severity: Error
Message: Verification of file signature failed for file: \\db4-1.lehmans.lan\UpdateServicesPackages\93a66d99-5e57-4109-98e3-0891194e3c82\978695fb-9442-4bc0-816b-43340ed83704_1.cab

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. If this has already been solved somewhere else, simply posting a link would be fine.
Thanks in advance.Thursday, April 3, 2008 12:30 AM

Hi,
I’m sorry to say it has been recognized as a bug for WSUS3.0 (cannot delete software package which has expired or failed), and it will been fixed by an update for WSUS3.0 later. Also we will go on to monitor this issue, once the update release and this issue should can be fixed.
Thanks for your cooperation and support
