project server 2013 plain text email notification RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I have configured "Manage My Resources' Alerts and Reminders" and able to receive email notification successfully but  the email notification is in a plain text format rather HTML format with task allocated information like Task Name, Start Date and End Date of task. I wanted to know how can we add project site link to that email so that the user can make user of that link and get into project tasks.

    can someone please help me.

  • Hi MercuryMan,

as far as i know, you can modify the templates (for all projects, not project specific) with this guide

  • You could use the process outlined here: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb968451(v=office.12).aspx, making tweaks to adapt it for 2013. The table you are looking for is pub.MSP_NOTIFICATION_XSLS. The process is pretty involved though.

Alternatively, you could turn off alerts at the Project Server Level, and use the SharePoint Alerts mechanism, using the process outlined here: http://blogs.technet.com/b/projectsupport/archive/2014/01/14/project-online-notifications-and-reminders.aspx. It talks about Project Online, but you should be able to use the same for On_premises.

And finally, you could set up a workflow on the Task list in the project site, and write your alerts the way you want them.
