Profile Photo in Project 2013 RRS feed

  • Question

  • In the promotional information for Project 2013 there are examples where the photo for the user appears as part of their Profile in the Project Scheduling tool - I can see my profile photo in PWA 2013 but not in the Project Scheduling tool. Being a narcissistic egomaniac this is a big issue for me, how can I have my photo image appear in the Project scheduling tool? I have tried every possibly approach without success.

  • Hi,

Are you talking about the presence information? If so this post will show you that functionality:

    http://blogs.office.com/b/project/archive/2012/10/19/project-and-lync-together-reducing-communication-barriers.aspx

    Notice the note:

NOTE: This only works with Lync 2010 or greater and Lync integration is not supported in Project Standard. In all cases the resource’s Email Address field must be populated to enable Lync presence information for that resource. This field is populated when adding resources via Active Directory or Active Directory Synchronization.

    Thanks

    Paul

  • Thanks for the reply Paul - my query is not related to Lync as far as I am aware, in Office 365 PWA there is the username displayed in the top right hand corner which includes the About Me option which displays user profile page in my.SharePoint.com . In the Project Pro 2013 Scheduling tool in the File (Backstage) area there is the Account option which includes the option to "Change Photo" for the user profile which takes you to the same SharePoint page - however no matter what I do the photo does not appear in the Project Pro client.

  • Dominic --

If it is any consolation to you, I ran into the same issue.  During the private and public beta, I could get my photo to appear in Microsoft Project 2013.  In the RTM release, my photo no longer appears.  So, this means I cannot see me looking back at me while using the software!  :)  Hope this helps.
