Voicemails not routed when Exchange DBs are moved to DR Site RRS feed

  • Setup is like this - 
    SiteA - One Exchange Mailbox Server, one LFE with mediation and one UM Server
    SiteB - One Exchange Mailbox Server, one LFE with mediation and one UM Server

    Both the UMs are active and we are able to recieve voicemails. Even with one server shutdown we get the voicemails without any issue.

    Problem is - We had a DR last week and once we did failover all the mailbox databases to the exchange server on siteB and shutdown the server on SiteA we are unable to recieve any voicemail. The messages were piled up on UM and only delivered after the Exchange server is back on SiteA. Skype call was also working fine, but only the Voicemail was unreachable.

    With logs on UM, it is identified that it was still trying to reach exchange server in SiteA when it was shutdown. Is there any way we can route the UM voice mails to exchange servers in the SiteB as well?

    Any steps or commands?

  • Think this is more a SFB/Lync configuration than Exchange.

  • Nope, it is more related to Unified Messaging.

    all the voicemails will be stored in voicemail folder until the exchange server comes back online, instead of routing to exchange server in siteB

    Are the DR servers added to the Skype Dial Plan?

    The CAS role is responsible for redirecting the inbound sip call, was the CAS active?
