old 2000 server new workstation with windows 7 32 bit connection on the network RRS feed

  • i'm trying to connect a new windows 7 32 bit computer to an old windows server 2000 net work. i used the same work group name and the same computer name but the only thing i know is the new computer says i'm on a net work but i can not see any files on the server. the server does not see the computer either. i tried putting ip addresses in manually and tried to use the auto set up to no avail

    You cannot access a shared folder that is located on a Windows 2000 or Windows 98-based computer from a Windows 7-based computer

    BTW, as the issue is more related to Windows 7, please post in Windows 7 forums for a better assistance.
