Work Folders ADFS Windows 8.1 Client Partnership Automatic Setup RRS feed

    After following the guidelines and switching the authentication method to ADFS configuring with automatic setup via GPO all domain-joined clients with Windows 8.1 started to experience a sync suspension with error: Sync stopped. Password needed. Following the event id 9001 and 9002. This issue may be resolved after pressing "Manage credentials" button on the left of Work Folders panel. However it is not obvious for regular users to find this solution. The issue does not apply for Windows 10 workstations, only for 8.1. Windows 7 has not been tested, though. We've tried several ADFS farms with different service generations from 2012R2 up to 2019 and the issue presents in all types of configuration. The GPO is set only in User Configuration with  Automatic Setup flag. "Force automatic setup for all users" in Computer Configuration is set to "Not Configured".

    KB2975719 does not have any impact to the Work Folders client behavior for particular case.

    I'll appreciate any experience described related or similar to this case. Thank you!
