Adding projects to the timeline - permission RRS feed

  • Hi

    I'm having trouble granting specific users the ability to add projects to the central project timeline in Project Online. Is there a specific permission required?

  • I suspect that there is a permission, but wouldn't know what it was.  Given that we're dealing with SharePoint at this level, I would presume it'll be a permission at the site level.

  • Sorry to bump, but this issue is still present. I can't seem to find a way to allow non-admin users to add projects to the main timeline, which I'm sure is not meant to be the case.

  • I am not familiar with a permission setting just for the timeline, however try the following

    1) Open the project schedule from PWA

    2) On ribbon "project permissions"

    3) click New and add the user to the right side

    4) check "Edit Project Summary Fields with Project Profession or Project Web App"

    or "Edit and Save Project with Project Profession or Project Web App"

  • Hi Michael,

    The user is having issues with the timeline in the Project Centre, not the Project Details Page as per the screen shot.

    Ben is correct. Not having trouble with the per project permissions, that's fine. However, I still cannot find how to allow users to add projects to the main timeline in Project Center.
