NVIDIA GeForce 7150M / nForce 630M drivers RRS feed

  • Question

  • Good Day,

I am searching for a NVIDIA GeForce 7150M / nForce 630M driver for my HP Pavillion dv6919ca Entertainment PC with OS Windows Vista Home Premium. The update for my driver did not matter to me because I had no programs that had to display hardcore graphics and textures, but I have recently purchased Left4Dead on Steam (Valve Corporation) and it tells me every time I launch the game that the video card is out of date and I should visit my dirver vendors download page (aka. NVIDIA's driver webpage). I try out their "Smart Scan" utility that finds what video card I have so they can give me the correct driver, but it did not work with IE7. I tried to find it manually, checked every Geforce and nForce video card in those lists, my video card was not listed. Then I went to HP's software and driver download centre, and my current video driver (Oh, I forgot to tell that I have updated my driver before, for some reason it dropped me on Experience Index from 2.6 to 2.5 for Gaming Graphics) was the wrong version! My driver version is right now 7.15.11.6743. I'm right now at a point of deciding either to yell at HP about why they don't update their drivers or Wiping my computer clean and installing XP on it or changing my video card.

    Please, can anyone help me?

Sick and tired of this damn laptop

PS: When I was typing this, I had Windows search for another driver via. Device Manager. It is now updated to 7.15.11.7713, and I am still getting the same warning message from Steam.

Oh and someone told me you can't change laptop cards, is that true???

    Hi Nick,

    Thank you for posting.

I checked Valve Left 4 Dead Requirements. Video card must be 128 MB or more and should be a DirectX 9 compatible with support for pixel shader 2.0. Could you please check your video card settings?

On the other hand, please understand that the issue is a game issue, not a Windows Vista issue, I suggest you contact Steam Support to address it.

In addition, regarding the laptop video card question, it is recommended to contact computer manufacturer to check if the computer can change video card since some specific models could.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Hope it helps.
