  • I have the bitlocker recovery key ID, I just don't know what to do with it. Does anyone have a clue what I'm supposed to do with it?

  • Keep it. Some day you might need it - your machine will ask for it in that case. Best to print it and as well save it on a backup hard drive. It is used to unlock your hard drive during a disaster recovery for example.

  • Hi,

The recovery key ID can help to find the corresponding recovery key. If you saved the recovery key to a USB drive, it will be named as the recovery key ID.
