KPI Threshold values RRS feed

  • Question

  • The metric involved is from an SSAS cube, and the metric has an aggregation property in the cube of an average (let's say average cost of a bike).

The KPI is set to use a reverse half gauge, five thresholds, and a normalized actual/target.

Not sure what to say other than the gauge thresholds simply don't  work.  Specifically, I have "the worst" in red and for anything greater than 105%.  The actual value is $1,627 and the target value (which is a fixed value) is $1,200 for a normalized value of 135%.  However the gauge is not red but in the orange / "threshold 1" which should be for values between 72% and 105%.

    This is just one example.

In short, getting the gauge thresholds to work with SSAS metrics that are based on averages seems not possible.  Any comments appreciated, thanks.

  • My workaround is simply to hard code the threshold values based on "Band by numeric value of actual", gauges are falling as expected.
