Block File and URLs to External RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

I'm working on a requirement where File and url tranfer between the external/remote and internal users should be blocked, but users connecting within corp n/w should be allowed for a standrd S4B installation.

I wonder if the following command is sufficient? Hope this will not block file and url transfer for the internal users.

    new-csfiletransferfilterconfiguration -identity edgeserver:edgepool.contosocom -action blockall -enabled $true

How do i push this configuration to Edge server?

  • Hi Channavera,

Base on my understanding, you could use the command New-CsImFilterconfiguration to block URL transfer and New-CsFileTransferFilterConfiguration for file transfer.

For details, you could refer to

    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg398244.aspx

    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg425897.aspx

After assigned these policies to the needed users and make sure the CMS replicated, the settings should be worked.

If you want to remove these settings.

Yes, the SFB Management Shell below should be ok:

    remove-CsImFilterconfiguration -Identity edgeserver:edgepool.contoso.com

    remove-CsFileTransferFilterConfiguration -Identity edgeserver:edgepool.contoso.com

    Best regards

  • I wonder these are the complete set of commands

    To block URL style links:
    New-CsImFilterconfiguration -Identity edgeserver:edgepool.contoso.com -BlockFileExtension $True -Action Block -Enabled $True

To block the transfer of all files:
    New-CsFileTransferFilterConfiguration -Identity edgeserver:edgepool.contoso.com -BlockFileExtension $True -Action BlockAll -Enabled $True

    Invoke-CsManagementStoreReplication -ReplicaFqdn edgepool.contoso.com

  • You don Need tor run the invoke command.

Changes will be done automatically through the default repplication service.

    remove-CsFileTransferFilterConfiguration -Identity edgeserver:edgepool.contoso.com
