  • Go to User Accounts and set the Administrator Password to something you know BEFORE removing from the Domain! If you feel like you want an additional safety net, create a new local account for yourself and add it to the Administrators Group before you make the change...

  • Hi,

If you has local account which is not administrator, please use domain administrator account change the account type to administrator (Control Panel -> User Account -> Change account type).

You could use local account logon PC which is in a domain by  .\username or computer name\username on logon screen.

If you don’t have any local account password, you will not allow to logon the PC when it leaves domain except the account password is blank.

I did a test, it is not allowed to create a local account when the PC is joined domain.
