install size of windows 8 over windows 7 on small SSD 120GB? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

What is the install size of windows 8 over windows 7 on small SSD (only 120GB). There is  only 11 GB currently free.

    Is this upgrade possible?

How do I transfer to a 240GB SSD if this is one solution.

    Thanks for your help

    Mike

  • The the size of windows 8 is 3.5 gb, and it will consume around 8gb Of your hard disk, yes

you can select the upgrade radio button when installing the Windows 8 Set up..so new files of windows 8 will be merged and new changes will be applied to your operating system !!!

i suggest you to upgrade the OS installation from win7 to win8 ..! don go for fresh install in 240gb SSD hard drive , Hope this helps

    Thanks,

  • You can't upgrade. The upgrade will not complete if the drive has less than 20GB free space.
