Spell check intermittently not working RRS feed

  • HI,

    I haver a customer with an issue with outlook spellchecker. Basically sometimes it does not work. Even when there is a miss spelt word in it and you spell check it says complete no errors. This doesn't happen with all the emails and you can reply to the same message that had the issue and the next time its fine.

    I have done the following

    1. Created a new profile

    2. Removed office and reinstalled

    3. Added English US to the languages (main language is English UK)

    4. Remove all traces of the outlook folder so it rebuilds.

    Its office 365 business (2016).

    Spell checker works fine in other office apps.

    Any suggestions welcome.

    As the issue occurs intermittently, it is difficult to analyze what could be the cause for the issue.

    Does the manual spell check works properly in Outlook?(Review > Spelling & Grammar or just press F7)

    Please make sure you have checked the option "Always check spelling before sending" via File > Option > Mail > Compose massages > Always check spelling before sending.

    Since Outlook uses Microsoft Word for spell-checking, then this should be the issue of Outlook. In this case, then there could be some add-ins in your Outlook client that cause this issue, so it is suggested to start your Outlook in safe mode (Press Win + R, type “outlook /safe”, press Enter.) and see if the issue continues.

  • Hi Aidan,

    All spell check selected. If there is a wrongly spelt word there is no underline on it. if you F7 to force a check it says complete no errors

    No not yet, outlook has no addins enabled on it. Doesnt happen in Word.
