Hello Microsoft Social Technet!
We had been asked to set up a Supercomputer in a our recent college project. What is necessary to configure a 3 node Supercomputer using Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2?Saturday, March 19, 2011 4:28 AM

Hi
thanks for posting.
not really sure on what you mean by "Supercomputer". if you are refering to paralle processing, Microsoft has Windows Server HPC. but if you want to provide high-availability, then you can Utilize failover clustering.
please find below some resources for you to get started

Hello Nirmal Madhawa Thewarathanthri.
Your reply was really helpful to us. In fact, now we are interested on how to deploy Windows HPC Server 2008 R2 in our project.
Actually, we are experimenting with 3 nodes but our final goal is to deploy Windows HPC Server 2008 R2 and achieve "basic" Supercomputing stuff with more than 30 nodes (if possible). We are using 32 and 64 bits arquitecture in our Dell machines.
Finally, I´d like to know if we can use Excel as a Supercomputing example, what kind of steps we need to follow in order to make it and last but not least where we can find more resources, tutorials or explanation of this topic.
Thank you.
