  • Do you get any message on the screen when it fails to resolve the name? Can it resolve to a user who is already added to SharePoint (may be to a different group)?

    Have you checked the event logs/ SharePoint logs for any clue?

  • Hi,

    This needs to be investigated.

    1. Try following the same from every WFE server to check if the issue is with any perticular WFE.

    2. When the issue happens have you checked the ULS logs /event logs to find exactly what happened.

    3. use a tool like fiddler to capture more details.

    I hope this will help you out.

  • "No match found" error comes. Yes it is able to resolve the user who is already added to sharepoint group.

    Even it is giving me this prob on one server only. when i tried same id on different server, the user id got resolved.

    What could be the possible settings needs to be done on the server which is giving problem. any idea??

  • Can you please check if aclinv.aspx file in all your front end servers are same or not. I am concerned about below high lighted section in the aspx page. You may find it inside 12\TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS folder.

    <wssawc:PeopleEditor
            AllowEmpty=false
            ValidatorEnabled="true"
            id="userPicker"
            runat="server"
            ShowCreateButtonInActiveDirectoryAccountCreationMode=true
            SelectionSet="User,SecGroup,SPGroup"
            />

    Thanks,

    Bivs
