MOSS 2007, service packs, and other fixes from Microsoft RRS feed

  • Question

  • After months of research, I recently applied service pack 3 to our service pack 1 level MOSS 2007 systems. There were no error or warning messages indicating that anything else was required.

Since that time, I have had a couple people ask whether it is necessary for us to apply the infrastructure update (or for that matter other Microsoft issued fixes) to the system.

During my reading and asking questions, I was told repeatedly that Service Pack 3 would add anything that was needed to move from Service Pack 1 to 3.

At this point, it has been nearly 2 months and things are, in general, running smoothly. The concerns right now are coming from people attempting to research and read from the internet on the topic of the use of mergedcontentdbs, etc. Many of these articles were written long ago - before Service Pack 2, or are quoting articles that were written long ago.

So, was the infrastructure update part of the fixes that were rolled up in a service pack (2, I presume)?

    Thank you so much.
