R2 Upgrade component version differences RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am about to deploy Service Manager as a production instance. It will be integrated with an existing instance of Configuration Manager 2012 SP1.  Given that System Centre 2012 R2 is about to be released I would like to use that for my new SM instance, but I may not be able to organise an upgrade of our Config manager instance to R2 for a period of some weeks.  Since at this point I will only be using the integration to populate service managers CMDB can anyone advise if it should be okay to run with a version difference between Service Manager and Config Manager until Config manager can be upgraded?

    Thanks Eden

  • yes, you are able to configure connectors across different versions as long as the user account of the connector has the right permissions. for example, SCSM 2012 SP1 UR2 with SCCM 2012 (no SP), even with older products such as SCCM 2007.

and I guess this will be the same in R2.
